With the economy facing some very troubling times, our store has constantly been searching for ways to boost sales as well as serve our community’s needs. We were given a tip this past fall from a fellow Ace Hardware store owner about the EdenPURE® Portable Infrared Heaters.

At first we were slightly hesitant in purchasing a heater that would retail for $397 but, after several requests, we decided to take the plunge and get in a batch of 51 heaters. It only took a few weeks for us to be totally sold out of those and already ordering more. On colder days of the week, in the months of November and December, we were selling upwards to ten of these units per day.

The advertising cost for us was rather low. Much of the advertising was done from people who either knew someone who owned one or someone who wanted one. We really did no marketing until the months of December and January which really helped to boost bottom line profit since we were not spending high amounts on our advertising. Paul Harvey is played on the radio on our community’s most popular radio station and we think that too helped with our success.

We are very excited to have Ace Hardware and RPPurchase working together. This new partnership will help to boost our bottom line gross profits as we enter the 1st quarter of 2009.

I would recommend stocking the EdenPURE® GEN3 1000 portable infrared heater to any Ace Hardware store—large or small. With the new order plan, it really won’t take much financial investment to get into the program. The sales that we made from these heaters accounted for 14% of our gross sales in December and 16% of our gross sales in November. With the profit margin we are able to make on these heaters, they really helped the bottom line for 2008. We look forward to another successful year with the help of Ace Hardware and RPPurchase.

Winamac ACE - ACE Dealer

Winamac Ace started selling the GEN3 heater in OCT, 2008. We started out ordering only a few heaters at a time (not making much money at this point). After receiving numerous phone calls from customers as far as 60 miles away, I started to order in large qty’s to receive the top-tier pricing, making over $200.00 per heater. The heater sales made Nov. and Dec. sales increase greatly at a good margin. This is a great opportunity to have a high $ item at a good margin.

I’ve tried out one of the EdenPURE® GEN3 heaters personally and think it’s a great product. My electric bill did increase by $60.00 a month and my gas bills decreased $150.00 a month, a savings of $90.00 per month.
